Ok my son is five almost six months. I was changing his diaper and noticed a bump by his tail bone. It s hard and about the size of a nickle. It doesn t have a head to it nor dose it look like a spider bite. He dosent act like it bothers him. He also hasn t been sick.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bump near tailbone . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like some kind of benign lesion like a dermoid, or a sebaceous cyst, or a fibroma. It could also be Pilonidal cyst is located near the tailbone at the top of the cleft of the buttocks it appears be due to hairs that puncture the skin and then become embedded & it has a tendency to cause infection on prolonged sitting.This needs to be examined clinically by a general surgeon. Doctor may recommend surgery to remove it or as the case might be followed by a histo-pathological report of the lesion. Doctor may also prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . For now apply warm compresses .
