However this became very painful and the pain and bulging only stopped when I lifted my hand up. This is still the same half an hour later? Also, why is this only happening to my left hand?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your experience of pain and bulging of the vein at your left hand I am suggesting strongly that you have a condition called peripheral vascular disease

In view of this please do the following test

Complete blood count
Peripheral angiography
Platelet count test

Meanwhile please see a vascular physician with the result and for further expect clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription as well as possible surgical correction procedure

I hope this helps Regards

I find this answer helpful
