What Causes Bulging Of Neck Vein Under Stress?

HI my girl is now 5 years old and has a vein on her neck which bulges,it is only noticable when she is under stress either by screaming, coughing,crying etc. When she was around 2 we were told that it would go away in a year or so but to no avail. It seems to be looking bigger now when it bulges.What can we do ?

Hi.... A bulging neck vein could be a sign of increased pressure in the heart because of various reasons. This is clinically called raised jugular venous pressure. I suggest you consult your pediatrician for paediatric cardiologist regarding this. She might require an echocardiogram to be performed.
