What Causes Build Up Of Fluid In The Body Post A Heart Transplantation?
Hi Doctor, My brother did heart transplantation 10 years ago, his heart is quite well. However, four years ago, an excess water started to form in his body, his kidney and liver is working very well. He is going once a year to the hospital to get the water out. Now, there is a huge pressure on his legs and turned to be red, and his skin is very very dry. All the water is concentrated in his belly. Why is that?

He is having cardiac failure and these symptoms of fluid retention are due to cardiac failure. He needs complete cardiac evaluation by chest x-ray and stress echocardiography. Ask him to decrease salt intake as it will be helpful in his case.
