What Causes Bug Bite Like Marks On My Penis Head?

My boyfriend and I were having sex two nights ago, after laying and cuddling for a while we noticed he had three red dots on his penis. They look like bug bites almost. Not raised, don t itch, cause him any discomfort, and have not gotten bigger in the last two days. He has been checked before and is clean, I have also been checked. Could this be an STD of some kind? Is it possible it s a bug bite?

Hello,

Your BF is having red spots on the penis. The red spots don't itch but it causes you concern. It can be contact dermatitis, molluscum contagiosum, yeast infection, jock itch, syphilis or genital herpes, etc. Your BF is suggested to get clinically examined by a GP / Urologist, get all required tests and investigations done. you will be treated accordingly. He will get relieve on applying cold compress. He should avoid sharing his clothes and toiletries with anyone.

Get STD tests done, If reports show positive for HPV, then he will be treated with antibiotic / antivirals. Do not pop or scratch as it will cause worsening of the symptoms. If fungal infection is detected he will have to apply clotrimazole . cream on the affected area. He should take care of his hygiene, take bath regularly. Stay away from addictions of any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
