What Causes Bubbling Sensation In The Head?

I have survived an AVM and the only symptom I noticed was at the same time everyday I would feel flushed and have a sensation like air bubbles going through my head. This went on for over a year until one day I woke up in hospital. There was no pain so I never thought the symptom was serious.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

An arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels connecting arteries and veins, which disrupts normal blood flow and oxygen circulation. When an AVM disrupts this critical process, the surrounding tissues may not get enough oxygen, and the affected arteries and veins can weaken and rupture. If the AVM is in the brain and ruptures, it can cause bleeding in the brain (hemorrhage), stroke or brain damage. So,you are lucky because you have survived and resolved the AVM problem.

-The bubbling sensation in your head ,in my opinion is cause by hypoventilation and hypoventilation is caused by your arteriovenous malformation.
Arteries are responsible for taking oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the brain. Veins carry the oxygen-depleted blood back to the lungs and heart. As we said in AMV this process do not function properly and it produced symptoms like yours.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
