What Causes Bruising On Using Waist Trimmer Neoprene Belt?

Hello, I used golds gym waist trimmer neoprene belt with velcroe two days in a row for an hour or two each while riding my bike in the sun. After the second day, when I took the belt off in from of the mirror I noticed my skin was very red everywhere the belt touched. Its been about 4 or 5 days and my skin is still very red. It doesn t hurt but it feels very hot, and it itches really badly. What is this? How do I make it go away? Is it something that will go away on its own and maybe with over the counter creams or will I have to go to the doctor? I am a 25 year old female, I m pretty overweight but have no other medical issues, at least that I m aware of. Thank you! Please answer asap, I have an anxiety issue when it comes to this stuff! Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear. I am your physician, having a vast years long experience in the field of General Surgery, Medicine, Ottorhinolaryngology and Nutrition and weight loss management. I have carefully gone through your case and in my expert opinion Its due to allergic reaction. Some constituents of the belt you are allergic to caused rash redness hot and itching skin. Contact dermatitis is another name for that.
Please dont be panic. No worries. Its normal in this case. No complications. What to do next? KEEP THIS BELT AWAY FROM YOUR BODY.Take plenty of fluids. Brisk walk for 30 min 3,4days a weak. Take over the counter Allergy pills(fexofenadine 120mg 1daily for 5 days). U may add some over the counter anti-inflammatory medicine if feel fever or severe symptoms But in my view you dont need that right now. It will subside in few days. Apply ice sponging 4times a day On the affected area. Dont apply any kind of creams unnecessarily; thats unneeded.
Hope to see you health soon. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me again. I am there to help soothen your rash area. Get well soon and stay blessed.
