What Causes Bruise On The Right Hand?

Last year, I was stung by a bumble bee on my right hand. I had a local reaction, but was left with a slight darkening of the skin surrounding the area. Now, a year later, the same area has became sensitive and has turned a dark purplish color. It is not swollen and I have not hit it on anything to bruise the area. The color also changes in darkness. Yesterday, it was a lighter color; today, it is darker. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

Hi.
As per your case history of bruise, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid trauma and don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. The present lesion may be due to fresh insect bite.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and levocetrizine for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, vitamin c taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
