What Causes Brownish Vaginal Discharge After Taking Birth Control Pills?

Yes hi.just worried a little because I take birth control pills everyday and sometimes I miss one dose out of a month and when I do get it my period my.. Which is like once out of that month and when I do I ll get clotting along with bleeding then as a try to get up from the restroom it ll be like an umbilical cord attached to me but its really my blood all string and I will have to pull it out of me it is really nasty then when It comes it is still in the form of a string....also seem like my period goes on forever.....sarts and stops....acts like it wants to stop cuz blood goes brown then within a couple of hours the period has started over.....does that back and forth.....

Thanks for posting in HCM.
Menstrual disturbances like spotting, missing periods, irregular periods, prolonged bleeding, brownish discharge and heavy blood flow during periods are some of the common side effects experienced by few women during the initial few months while on birth control pills.
Since these are hormonal preparations and takes some time for the body to get adjusted towards it, such symptoms can happen. Many a times, it is the incomplete shedding of mucosa during the previous cycle, which would appear later as brownish discharge.
You need not be worried about it and kindly continue the pills as advised to be taken.
By 3 to 6 months, such symptoms should stop and things should get stabilized.
In case it doesn't, or there is appearance of new symptoms, you need to consult Gynecologist and change the contraceptive mode which would suit you.
