What Causes Brownish Discharge During Menstruation?

So four days ago, I began spotting a light brown color and it has recently turned into a dark brown flow (almost like the end of a period). Problem is, my period is not supposed to start for 3 to 4 more days. I have rules out pregnancy for the most part because it does not look like implantation spotting and I have not had sex for at least 13 days now. Some other things that should be noted: I have been very moody/upset lately which isn't normal, I have had a change in diet, I have been exercising more, I have had dry skin/acne which isn't normal, and I am currently on birth control. This has never happened before to me and I have been trying to figure it out. The symptoms seem like low progesterone, but I am no expert. What is it? And what can I do to help my body?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
There are various causes of brown bleeding before menses. ( implantation bleeding, cervical polyp,infection, endometriosis, birth control pills) out of these birth control pills seem to be the cause in your case.
Few contraceptive pills have possibility of such discharge in beginning Being hormonal in formula-- it also has other signs like mood swings,skin & food changes as side effect to start with.
