Last month I had sex with my boyfriend he came in me the Saturday and Sunday two times the Sunday. Monday I went and bought morning after. The week before i had my period and the day i took the pills my period came the third day but it only last for 5 days into December when normally its 7 days. After three days I started to see more blood and this one doesn't run heavy only when i wipe, i see it and its brownish. This is the second week in December the 10th I went to the bathroom and i saw a thick burgundy color blood. What does this mean?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your query. You had taken morning after pill on Monday to seek protection from week end activities. It contains high dose of hormones- which were consumed at end of your menstrual cycle & interfered with your menses- The irregularity in menses may continue till the hormones are re normalized. Please wait patiently for the effect5 to go. If you have excessive discomfort/ bleeding you need physical examination by a gynecologist, for management Thanks.
