Recently, I went to the doctor for a checkup. I was sexually active and she noticed some form of discharge which she described as looking yeast like. I was prescribed Canesten 3 pack. I started using it the 2nd day after being prescribed since I totally forgot the night before. When I inserted it, I realized that there was a small amount of blood on the applicator and I assumed it was my period. The cramps came to strengthen my view that the blood was from my period. I continued using the Canesten anyways. I week and a day has now passed and the period has not subsided. I am very worried as this is the first time that my period has been extended. The colour of the blood however, has changed from bright red to this brownish looking colour and comes with an odour.
It might be due to infections like bacterial vaginosis or yeast. Consult a gynecologist and get a vaginal scan done. As of now maintain good personal hygiene and you can use Clotrimazole lotion to cleanse your genitals.
