What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge While On Birth Control?
Hi i went on birthcontrol early september. Everything was going well until the last month. Ive been bleeding on and off for a month and recently ive had brown and black vaginal discharge in my panties. Should i be concerened. Also i bleed heavily the last few tomes ive had sex.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Intermittent spotting and discharges could happen in first few months of taking birth control pills. By about 4 to 6 months, your menstrual pattern should stabilise. Based on the symptoms you are describing, the discharge and heavy bleeding after intercourse could be due to some other cause like inflammation of the cervix (cervicitis) or presence of uterine/cervical polyp. Such conditions could be diagnosed based on per speculum examination and ultrasound scan. It would be advisable to consult Gynaecologist for proper evaluation and management.
