What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Suffering From Stomach Infection?

Hello. I had recently been hit with the stomach bug about a week ago. Had symptoms of muscle aches, diarrhea, headaches, and exhaustion. I notice yesterday that I had a brown discharge come but it is very light. Not enough to fill a pant liner. My period is not expected to come for another two weeks. Could this be a result of the stomach flu or is this something else.

Hi,

Brown discharge is seen when old or retained blood inside the uterus comes out. It can happen following stress or after an episode of infection.

Kindly until you get your periods at a regular time as expected. If such discharge gets more frequent and gets associated with other symptoms, then you would require clinical evaluation for which you need to consult Obstetrician.

You may also require investigation like ultrasound scan for confirmation of the underlying cause.
