What Causes Brown Urine?

What causes brown urine? It s not dark yellow (dehydration) or red (bladder infection). There is no pain, but my intestinal tract is abnormally bloated. I have Crohn s disease and recently had my thyroid removed (cancer). I have hypothyroidism (TSH at 83.0) and am working with my endocrinologist to find the right dosage of Synthroid.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Considering your medical history there may be few causes if infection and dehydration are ruled out. First, it can be seen in enterovesical fistulas which is not uncommon in Crohns disease and second it may be sign of high nlood bilirubine so you need to check your liver markers first. if this is fine, you need to do MRI scan of pelvis to rule out fistulas. Till that try to drink more fluids and have raspberry tea. If fever or pain occur, you should see doctor as soon as possible.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
