What Causes Brown Saliva While Waking Up, In GERD Patient?

I I was diagnosed with GERD in 2006 and have been taking Prevacid 30 mg a day since then. In 2007, I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I have been waking up with brown saliva every day this week. Is there a reason for this and is it something to worry about?

Hi brown saliva indicates there is bleeding in the stomach. Please preserve the saliva, get it tested and report to your doctor--regards
