What Causes Brown Discharge On Stopping Depo Injections?
Hi, Im 23 years old. Ive been off the depo injection for just over one month now.. I only had the shot once for the 12 weeks and now me and my partner would like to try for a baby I am spotting a brown discharge continuously but the last few days seems to have died down but nothing pregnancy wise seems to be happening and no periods now long does it take? We really want a baby!!

Hi, I understand your concern. Depot contraceptive is high dose single hormone preparation, you had taken one prick only. The effect of the medicine lasts in body for 12-13 weeks. You had withdrawn after one injection only. The brown discharge you had was due to withdrawal of the hormone from your body After withdrawal it may take 9-10 months for return of normal periods & fertility. Thanks.
