What Causes Bright Redness In Eye Lids After A Flu Attack?

hi, i think i just had the flu for the last few days (aches, fever, chills, headaches, fatigue - extreme).
I thought I was through it all when I woke up this morning, but now my eye lid and below my bottom eye there is an alarming bright pink/red all along my eye.

It looks like someone punched me in both eyes - No secretion from my eyes and they feel fine. But I feel alarmed.
Any ideas?
