What Causes Bright Blue Veins Protruding From Chest Towards Shoulders?

Hi I am a 51 year old woman, with an odd experience last night. I noticed getting ready for bed that my chest was a road map of bright blue veins, flowing into my left shoulder. I actually could trace them. Never have I seen this before except when I was pregnant. Before that I had taken my blood pressure 109/61 because I felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. Could that be why? Sorry not paying for the answer.
