What Causes Bright Blood During Bowel Movements?

My 13 year old daughter has bright blood when she has a bowel movement. This happens every month around the same time and she has not started her menstural cycle. This time she had sharp pains in her abdominal area and she can her her stomach growling.

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry to hear about this. I am very suspicious that your daughter has indeed started having her menstruation. The fact that it happens monthly around the same time gives more support to this. If one is new to this, they may think that the blood is coming from her rectum. I would have her first see her regular doctor, because if in fact it is from her bowels, then she need sooner intervention to find out the cause of non gynecological bleeding. Please update with results as I am curious as well. I hope that this helps you out, good luck and thank you for your question.
