What Causes Breathlessness And Collarbone Tightness Sensations?

I'm having a little trouble breathing. It feels like a tightness under the collarbone. I do have exercise induced asthma, but this feels different and my inhaler didn't help. It is comparable to the asthma in that it feels like I'm not getting enough air.

Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history and would like to know more about you like - a. What is your age and since what age you have exercise-induced asthma? b. Do you have cough/breathing difficulty apart from exercise? c. Do you have allergic rhinitis - nose obstruction, nose itching, running nose, sneezing, etc? d. Do you have symptoms of GERD - nausea, burning pain in chest, regurgitation of liquid/fluids after meals, especially spicy/heavy meals? e. Which inhaler are you using and how frequently do you need to use it?

Above details would help me to know your complaints better and therefore guide you better.

At present, I would suggest you as follows:

1. Were I treating you, I would suggest you spirometry with post-bronchodilator study which will help me to know about your asthma symptoms.

2. I would also suggest you montelukast and levocetirizine for 2 weeks which might be helpful.

3. I would suggest you to take your inhaler a couple of times more, if 1 puff is not effective. However, as I don't know which inhaler you are using, please contact your doctor before taking it more than prescribed dose.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish you the best of the health ahead.

Thank you & Regards.
