What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Throat Discomfort?

WHAT CAN CAUSE YOU TO HAVE DIFFICULT BREATHING THROUGH THE MOUTH AND FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS BLOCKING YOUR THROAT? EKG & CONTRAST CT AND LAB WORK LOOKS FINE.. HAD SEVERAL EPISODES AND HAVE GONE TO ER. COULD IT BE THE ESOPHAGUS? POSSIBLE SWELLING, OR STRICTURE. IF SO, WHY DOES IT NOT DO IT ALL THE TIME? IT JUST HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY DAY OR NIGHT AND IT IS A HORRIBLE FEELING OF NOT BEING ABLE TO GET AIR IN OR OUT. SO FAR NO DIAGNOSIS. WAITING TO HAVE EGD. TAKING PROTONIX.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

You have to get a laryngoscopic examination to rule out possibilities like lump or mass in the throat.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
