What Causes Breast Tenderness And Clear Vaginal Discharge During Menopause?

Hello,I m 54 years old and going through menopause. I have not had a period in about 2 years. About a week ago my breast became very tender like they use to feel when I was going to start my period. I have a slight clear discharge and lower back pain like I use to have when I had my periods. Is this something I should be concerned with?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The symptoms you are experiencing are associated with hormonal changes taking place during menopause. You need to take symptomatic treatment for such symptoms like mild analgesics for breast tenderness and calcium supplementation for low back ache. Drink good quantity of water and keep yourself well hydrated. Keep your genital hygiene in good condition by using pH balancing solutions like v-wash and moisturizer lotions to prevent dryness and infection. Gradually, such symptoms should subside and you should be back to normal.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
