Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Husband experiencing mild shaking chills, teeth chattering. He is attending PT sessions for arthritic neck pain and may have overdone his home exercises. Also tooth extraction Tuesday morning. Saw oral surgeon this morning and his tooth pain caused by dry socket. Dentist cleaned it and applied something topically. He prescribed Vicodin 350. Because husband has Afib, taking Coumadin, he is taking only 1 pill every 5 hours. Also has COPD. He has low tolerance for pain and not knowing what to do. AGe 75
Vicodin (Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen) has no drug interaction with Coumadin. Mild shaking chills, teeth chattering could be due to fever. Please take his axiallary temperature with clinical thermometer. Fever is usually due to some infection (may be in dental sockets) and may require a course of suitable antibiotic.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas,
