What Causes Blurry Eyes And Light Headedness?

Hi I am experiencing a pain in my head that comes on for just mere seconds at a time. It feels like I am getting shocked. Right before this happens my eyes get blurry and I get a little light headed. The pain that comes with it is a 8 out of 10. Most of the time this happens it is when I m trying to fall asleep or as soon as I doze off and it wakes me up but tonight I got them while I m awake and not laying down. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety about 6 months ago. I was put on vibryd and ambien. I used to get something similar to this once every few months for around 8 years but they changed into this about 6 months ago. Just wondering what this may be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain may be due to neuralgia which is nerve related pain. This can be 'shocking' in nature.
Other persons may have a burning, sticking, tingling etc

There are different causes for neuralgia and you may need to consult your doctor to determine the cause for you.
Some causes are: (A) diabetes
(B) trauma to the area or nerves responsible for that area
(C)liver or kidney disease
(D)nerve conditions such as stroke, ms
(E)exposure to toxins
(F)infections such as shingles
(G)side effect of medication
(H)idiopathic- cause is not known

If it continues, you may need to see your doctor for an assessment which would include blood tests such as liver and kidney function, complete blood count, screening for diabetes

I hope this helps
