What Causes Blurred Vision After Surviving A Coma And Multiple Brain Strokes?

Hello My father had 3 brain strokes which affected his balance ,memory and left side .. and unfortunately one of them hit his vision centre. It s been 9 months now and he still can t walk on his own and he s not even balanced enough. He got in a comma and when he woke up he only saw whitness .. now he sees some colors .. but nothing else .. he can t see any kind of details .. neither people nor objects. His sadness got him diabetes and i m afraid that will make him see blackness instead of some colors in the area. We re Egyptians By the way so medical care is not as evolved as is the US In fact they e idiots and couldn t tell what was wrong with him for years .. even when he had the stroke until he got in the comma. That s pretty much the summary . So can his vision centre be fixed? Here they re saying no but i don t trust them.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Stroke is mainly due to two reasons-either ischaemia-blockade of blood supply,or haemorrhagic-bleeding into the brain tissue. If stroke is due to ischaemia recovery is more but if it is due to haemorrhage chances of recovery is less.Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, physiotherapy are required under expert guidance to make the patient able to do their chores. Joining a support group of similar patients and Support from friends and family is required in this situation. Inorder to comment on whether his vision can be fixed or not the physician is required to do physical examination as well as see all the old reports. comprehensive low vision examination, and vision rehabilitation services and training, can be helpful for some individuals. It is usual that these patients develop depression and diabetes will only complicate the matter.family support should be more in this situation.I dont know about medical care in egypt. But if possible India is low cost medical care destination compared to US, you can consult a qualified neurologist here and get explanation and treatment of your fathers situation.
