What Causes Blurred Vision After An Eye Surgery?

At least 1 year ago, I went though the operation in both of my eyes..and I have had problems ever since. I never wore glasses, and much less now! I no longer can enjoy going anywhere, for I see everything All distorted. I feel like, it s a heaviness inside of my eyes & always have the idea of pulling it out, so I can see, like I did before the operation . Was finally able to be guided to another eye doctor , but, he concluded he was not the one to rectify the problem.(Very disappointed!)- Now, the office of the lady doctor who performed the operation, have called 4 days ago, and said: You are going to be sent to a doctor in Hamilton & I ll call you back to tell you of the Appt date!- But, a few days prior to this phone call, I was told by the partner doctor that I had to go and see the One who had done the operation, but things are forever changing, and I never know where I stand ! At times, I WONDER !- Could you tell me What would have caused my vision to have become so blury, I mean, SO DISTORTED where I see the pitures crooked, or a table one end appears to be smaller, compared to the other end seemingly looking rather huge ?(that situation gets me sick to my stomach, because how things appear to be (UNreal), and same with people s faces, etc.............*I am SEARCHING for someone who will be sincere and plead my cause... and, I want to say How grateful I would be, if I ever found out, that someone Can Help me, Thanks a mint, Rita .

Hello Rita,

Sorry to know about your visual problems which are indeed disturbing. Your symptoms can be caused by post-op astigmatism, macular pucker, age related macular degeneration. Post-op astigmatism can be treated with glasses or contact lenses. If these are not helpful or you want to avoid them you can discuss regarding limbal relaxing incisions(LRI) or lens exchange or laser treatment. The other two causes need to be looked for and if present require treatment from retinal surgeon. Hope you get relief soon.
