Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a tiny bruise behind my knee. I don t remember bumping into anything, however it is really sore. It s been sore for days and I ve noticed that now I have a dark blue line or vein on the crease where the back of my knee is? Should I be concerned?
Hello, if there is not any injury than just having blue line is not a serious and you cn ignore it. most probably it is a dilated vein which carries blood from knee to heart. Since this blood does not have oxygen so it appears blue. Some time specially in person who remain standing for long time these veins remain dilated and it is called varricose veins. they may need surgery if pin is very bad. i hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. Thanks
