What Causes Bloody Stool?

I have been getting blood in my stools for the last 2 days over the weekend. This is the first time it has happened to me but I think it is because I have been constipated and was straining. How urgent is it to go the doctor? Should i wait a few days and see if it passes on its own or book an appointment for Monday? I generally feel pretty healthy apart from being slightly worried about having blood in stools.

Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* This seems more likely to be in relation with constipation induced
straining and friction .

* Guidelines for better recovery

- Drink plenty of liquids .
- Prefer more of high fiber , green leafy veg , whole grains , cereals ,
pulses , legumes , organic fresh fruits .
- Avoid oily , spicy , non veg stuffs .

- Bulk forming laxative as Ispaghula husk 3 teaspoonful at night with
glass of drinking lukewarm water for 5 days .
- Avoid smoking , alcohol if using .
* Consult later your doctor if bleeding persist , there is no emergency
to rush to the doctor at present .

Wishing you fine recovery .
Welcome for any further guidance .

Regards .
