What Causes Bloody Bowel Movements With Pinkish Tissue Attached With The Stool?
I have a friend whom is underweight, eats and cant gain a pound havin bright rd blood from rectum with no bowel mvt at times bowels have red pinkish tissue attached with bright red blood around stool and on paper, moving bowels regualry, soft not hard, eat gluten free diet b/c have psoriarsis on elbows sun is clearing it up Blood in am about 3 5 times a week a almost daily bleeding with bowel mvts could she have a tapeworm?
Noted the history and understood the concerns. Bleeding per-rectum with known psoriasis, pinkish tissue attached with stool indicate the possibility of severe colitis, most probably a sort of an autoimmune problem. This can be diagnosed by the following:
Consult a Gastroenterologist as your friend will need a proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations like colonoscopy and biopsy. CT scan of abdomen. Tests of blood and stool. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis which helps for proper management. Also needed is a supportive treatment like probiotics, electrolyte and protein supplements or multivitamins, mineral and so on. Identify the foods and beverages that increase her problems and stop these altogether.
Take Care
