What Causes Blood In Urine?

A few days ago I wiped after peeing and there was blood, it was bright red an only that once. I don t have any frequent urges to use the bathroom no burning like a uti or anything. I assumed I was getting my period about a week early but it hadn t came yet. What could it have been?

Hi,
Any problem in urinary tract like stone,inflammation, growth or tumour in kidney,ureter,bladder causes blood in urine.
If you had a bright red colour blood wiped after urination without having any urinary symptoms then there is no chance of above mentioned disease rather it might have occurred occasionally or you are about to menstruate as you said your periods are due.
Still I would suggest you can go for urine routine/ microscopy examination and it will clear the doubts.
No need to worry about that.
