Hello,

The consistency of stool and the color of stool depend upon the diet taken, if it is the bloodstained stool is suspected, then it has to be sent for lab test, once the presence of blood is positive, then it is the prime task to find out the source of bleeding like it is in the rectum area, anal region, it is in the intestine in the distal region, or in descending colon, anal bleeding and rectal bleeding can easily be detected but for other causes needs many investigations, some time infection may be the cause. The most common cause of anal bleeding is fissure and for rectum bleeding is hemorrhoids, treatment depends upon the clinical condition both surgical and medical treatment can be tried.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
