What Causes Blood In Stools While Having Hemorrhoids?

My father has been having a stomach ache for about the past montht that comes and goes. Twice when he has used the bathroom he reports bloody stools, but the blood seems to be darker red. He also suffers from hemmorhoids, but has never experiences anything like this before. Other than that he doesn't have any symptoms. What could it be?

Hello,my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.
I understand your concern.
Blood in stool is because of hemorrhoids.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone,
- use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.
-Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions, I'll be glad to help.
Kind regards!
