What Causes Blood In Stool Along With Nausea?

I just found blood (it was red, not brown or maroon or dark) in my stool. I have been unusually tired today and became nauseous about 10 minutes before I found the blood. I have also had soft/watery stool for the past two to three days. Is this something that I need to get checked out immediately or can it wait a day or two until I can get time off from work?

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry toread about your bleeding. I would worry that you are having an upper gastrointestinal bleed which can leave you very sick quickly, the nausea you had makes me think this even though most bright red from the rectum are lower bowel bleeds. I would go see a doctor sooner than later and not wait as you are already weak meaning that you have lost quite a bit of blood already. This bleeding has obviously been going on for the past 4 days or so which explains the diarrhea, the blood in the system causes diarrhea as it is irritating to the digestive system. I hope this answers your question. Good luck.
