What Causes Blood In Mucus Of Stool?

hi I have a 3 year old boy that has blood an mucus in his poop for the past 4 months his ped. gave him antibiotics but it hasnt worked....they did a barium enema but the results were negative...x-ray negative as well ...he eats well an plays,....he doesnt complain of any particular pain......now they wana to do a endoscopy....help

Hi, Thanks for asking. In my opinion an endoscopy is required. There might be possibility of polyps or ulcers which my not be picked up on barium. Also if a biopsy is required it may be taken. I hope i have answered your question.
