Hi, My dad is 68 years old, during his check up routine, he performed a urine analysis, and the result shows that the urine is containing blood (hematuria) with 1400 RBCs. He did a CT for his urinary system, the diagnosis was, a ureteric stone in the lower third of the left ureter with a dilatation of renal pelvic and ureter. At the same day, he started to have renal colic. He was advised to take large amounts of liquids, and to take Ciprofloxacin and analgesic (voltaren injections). After few days, he started to have fever and he was put on antibiotics (Rocifen) via IV for three days and the fever disappeared immediately. The doctors decided to make ureteroscopy, and the result was a big mass in the left ureter, a biopsy was taken, and DJ was placed. The result of the biopsy was a Low-grade transitional carcinoma. Please advice what are the next steps? What are the possible treatments? Which is better to have radical nephrourectomy or partial nephrourectomy? Is there any medicine instead of nephrourectomy? Please note that the other kidney is doing well, but it has a cyst. Please help me as soon as possible. Looking forward to hearing from you. Best Regards,
