What Causes Blood Clots In Urine?

My Bro.-in-law who is 74 yrs. He has been urinating bright red blood and passing dark red clots. He has been going to a clinic in Botham, TX. They don t seem to be in a hurry. His clinic told him today that the see stones in both kidneys and something that might be cancer and they would try to get him in OU Med Center about 7/12/17. I have asked him to come to Okla City so that I can get him into OU.

hello, there are few major diseases in which a patient passes blood clots in a urine.first of all you have to tell us whether the blood is fresh or its clotted. secondly when there is kidney infection in later stages blood is also passed but it is mixed with urine.thirdly in your patient case in this age the most likely cause is cancer of any of the kidney tract or it might be beningn prostrate hypertrophy which is causing the urine retention and ultimately causing the urine stones.urine stones make the kidney damage by making concreations in the kidney and thus lead to blood in the urine.
