What Causes Blood And Green Mucus In Bowel Movement?
Hi, for quite a few weeks now I ve been experiencing some issues with bowel movements. I can go for days without pooping and the times I try I get a lot of green mucus. I ve never had this before. I have never been particularly regular so this wasn t the worrying part but when I do manage to go there is often blood on the tissue when I wipe. There only really really tiny spots but with the other symptoms I m wondering if there is something to worry about?
Hi thanks for asking question. Here are some concerned in your case. Get your stool examined as here blood and mucus present. 1.If pus cells also present there are chances of shigella dysentery. For that antibiotic needed. 2.If stool contain eggs of ameba then chances of amebic dysentery is present. For that metronidazole like antiamebic drug given. 3.if both causes not present and symptoms deteriorating with abdominal then colonoscopy examination done , that might reveal inflammatory bowel disease. Take light meal with lots of water and fruit juice. Avoid smoke and alcohol.Avoid excess spicy food. I hope my suggestion will help you. Dr.parth
