What Causes Blocked Ears?

After a bad cold, I have had a blocked ear for four weeks. The doctor says my eardrum looks fine and clear of earwax and he has given me Beconase but this is having no effect. When I lean forward, I feel pressure in the ear like fluid is moving forward. Is there anything else I can do?

Hi
Welcome to HCM
This could be due to eustachian tube blockage...you know there is something called eustachian tube which connects the ear with back of nose..so that ear gets ventilation... If it get blocked some times due throat infection...it causes ear block..less hearing...
I recommend tablet levocetrizine with phenylephrine combination once daily at night after food for 7 days...and oxymetazoline nasal drops three drops three times daily in each nostril for 7 days...
And Valsalva maneuver that you have pinch and block both nostrils and close your mouth and blow air..you hear a pop u sound in ear then release..this will open the blocked eustachian tube and ventilate the ear...do this 5 to 6 times a day for 7 days...
Come for a review of any symptoms write me on healthcare magic...
Wish you a speedy recovery
