What Causes Bloating With Belching And Hiccups?

My brother has a low hemoglobin (9) and also has bloating, belching and hiccups for long periods of time and what could these symptoms mean? He knows that he has to get the blood count up but the other combined symptoms have me concerned. There is no blood in the stool.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Bloating, hiccups, belching along with low hemoglobin can be due to one of the following reasons:
Kidney disease causing secondary changes.
Gastrointestinal problems causing secondary anemia due to particularly small intestinal conditions like infection.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get the stool tests along with urine and blood tests.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen.
A course of a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone for belching and hiccups.
Antacids.
Rest of the treatment as per the investigations and clinical evaluation by a Doctor.
If needed, get the colonoscopy and upper GI Endoscopy done.
Iron and multivitamin supplements along with Folic acid would help to raise the hemoglobin to normal.
Pomegranate helps the best naturally.
