I was diagnosed with peri-orbital cellulitis on Jan 21. The doctor put me on Apo-Cephlex for 7 days. I took the anti-biotics as prescribed, and the blisters and red spot shrunk to smaller and almost went away. Today, Feb 5, I went back as I had some eye redness and swelling. I was diagnosed with blepharitis and conjunctivitis. I asked the doctor about where the cellulitis had been (it is still slightly red with small flesh coloured, almost scar like bumps) and he said it was just inflammation and gave me erythromycin to treat the blepharitis and pink eye. My concern is this: is this staph infection gone (the cellulitis) or should I be concerned that there is still residual (albiet mild) and keep treating it? Thanks.
