What Causes Bleeding In The Throat?

Why do i see i little bit of blood in my throat? Yesterday i went to the doctor s and he gave me tamiflu because i m sick. This morning i tasted something bad and i rinsed out. The water is kinda brownish or light redish. I m thinking is blood. Why did that happen? Right now i m not having any blood in my throat though

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Little blood in the throat is possible after a throat infection.

It's not worrisome until it's not too much or if it doesn't settle. To complete your treatment for your sore throat see your doctor in cases the problem persists. Go to ER urgently if there is large bleeding but that's very unlikely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
