What Causes Bleeding From Penis After Removal Of Catheter?

My dad was in the hospital for a week, with a pain in his side. They did an mri, catscan (as he had a stroke before). He was in the hospital for a week on I ve, and couldn t find anything. He had a cathater while how was in the hospital. Came home 3 days ago the cathater was removed 4 days ago, and the days following there was very little blood, everything had cleared. Today he went to the bathroom and had bright red blood come out through the penis. Should I be taking him back to the hospital?

hi dear thanks for query on HCM

The problem may be due to drugs he is taking for stroke. Bleeding for few days after catheter removal is common and subsides, if not he might have developed Urinary infection. He needs evaluation if it persists

Thank you
