What Causes Bleeding During Bowel Movement?

My 18 year old son bleeds every time when he has a bowel movement. He bleeds bright red blood and it drips into the floor. The bleeds won t stop until he takes a shower to stop it. He also gets his underwear and pants dirty with blood and stool. This has been going on for 6 months. He is usually constipated because he is afraid of the blood. What do we need to do? What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that he might be having bleeding internal hemorrhois producing profuse and frequent bleeding.
Constipation still precipitates bleeding.
Consult surgeon and get examined.
give him laxative daily at night.
Avoid fried, chilies and junk food.
Ok and take care.
