What Causes Bleeding And Itchiness In Ear With Headache?

Hi, I noticed a spot of blood when cleaning my left ear yesterday and this morning. I have a bit of an itchy feeling inside and a bit of a headache that is on the left side of my head. Is this something I need to worry about? Will it clear up on it s own?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bleeding from ear along with itchiness . Well there can be many reason for symptoms you mention in query like ear infection , trauma to any structure in ear like ear drum , swimmer's ear and tumor . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan or MRI along with examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory and vitamin supplement for quick recovery . Sometimes doctor may also recommend surgical approach . For now keep your ear dry and apply warm dry compresses . Also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
