What Causes Bleeding And Cramps After Sex While On Birth Control?

hello, i am currently taking birth control, this is about my 6 or 7th month. About almost 2 weeks ago, my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex on a friday and saturday. That sunday, i got really bad cramps and started bleeding all the way until wednesday. I was not due to get my period until the following week. Today is the day that i was due to get my period and i have not gotten it yet. I do not believe the other bleeding was breakthrough bleeding because it was kind of heavy with bad cramps. I have been stressed about school a lot though. I am worried that i may be pregnant? Is that possible? Why wouldnt my period come today. This is the week of my placebo pills so i am supposed to get it. I have also been very nuaseaus all week and had a loss of apetite. I am very scared and need answers. please help

Secondly, stress can create hormone imbalance and lead to breakthrough bleeding. This is the likely cause of the spotting or bleeding you experienced.
