What Causes Bleeding After Intercourse?

I recently got my period back, after losing it for a couple of months due to weight loss and a eating disorder. So it comes randomly and last usually 2 or 5 days I recently had sex with my partner 3 days ago I had slight cramping before. The sex hurt and it was protected A day after I had little cramps, the day after that I started bleeding and got horrible cramps. Im still bleeding now What could be the cause of this, due to my high stress and anxiety levels I am. Worrying and making myself feel sick. Any ideas to why I am bleeding? Could I be pregnant

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

At first, you must undergo one home pregnancy test to rule out possibility of unwanted pregnancy.

1) Bleeding during intercourse or spotting may be due to hymen rupture, rough sex, blunt trauma, vaginal infection or dryness (lack of lubrication), hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, cervical or uterine polyp etc.

2) Use proper lubrication during sex and maintain genital hygiene. Medicine like Tranexamic acid can be taken to arrest bleeding temporarily.

3) Lastly, I suggest you to consult with gynecologist if bleeding continues. You may need to undergo one ultrasound scan to detect uterine or cervical pathology (if any). Maintain genital hygiene. Good luck.
