What Causes Blackish Discoloration Of Toe Nail?
Hi, my son is 16 years old and his second toe nail turns black and blue, and looks like bruise. He has lost his nail twice in about 8 months. His toenail is growing back now but the bruise is back and I m just wondering if I need to have it checked my our doctor. He is a basketball player. Besides having an injury to his toe what would cause this bruise?

I really appreciate your concern, here the only condition that is to be concern most and it is ingrowing toe nail because it cause some pain and swelling too, second infection part needs to be ruled out, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
