What causes black vomiting?

Hi, my 20 year old daughter seems to have an intestinal virus, her symptons are sore throat, low grade fever (100 deg), diarrhea and excessive vomiting. She vomited about 12 times in as many hours. She doesn't seem to be dehydrated. This morning she had a very dark or black vomit, what could be the cause?

A dark or black vomit could mean a bleeding in her Gastro-intestinal tract. It could mean a mucosal tear or a bleeding ulcer. Given her age, its is very important to take to an emergency to be evaluated & treated properly.
