General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Commonly black stools occur due to eating a lot of iron content in your diet, it can be associated with constipation as well that may cause abdominal discomfort or pain.

Stay well hydrated to help move the bowels, take laxatives to avoid stomach pain. You can take papayas (raw & ripe), prunes, cucumbers in plenty. They are natural laxatives.

Avoid taking red meat, it causes constipation. You can take antacids & PPI's to avoid acute gastritis.

Medical conditions associated with black stools & pain stomach can be indicative of serious diseases like stomach ulcer, esophageal varices, peptic ulcer or colon cancer, etc.

You are suggested to get physically examined, get blood tests & required Imaging tests done to detect any developing pathology.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
